While working here as an RMT It has come to my attention that many of the clients that I treat are having difficulting finding a reliable RMT for regular massage treatment. Last week one client, in particular, mentioned that he had driven over an hour to come to his appointment because there was no availability for treatment within his local area. And he was right… All you have to do is run a quick google search for RMTs in Victoria and you’ll see that many are booking anywhere from mid-July into early September. This situation creates problems for people who need treatment now in order to get back to work, resulting in a much longer than normal rehabilitation process.
Since we’re new to the area we’re in a unique position because we actually have consistent availability over the upcoming months. That means you can book an appointment for a massage during a time slot that suits your schedule, and you won’t have to wait forever to get in. Kristine and I are able to offer a more personalized experience because we take care of everything ourselves.
Why Choose an RMT?
Registered Massage Therapists are highly trained in the areas of relaxation massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial assessment and release, neuromuscular therapy, as well as pre and post-natal, infant massage, headaches, whiplash, concussion treatments, hydrotherapy techniques, and homecare modalities that can help accelerate the rehabilitation process. Each massage treatment is a unique experience.
We start each appointment by getting a little background information about your health history which includes any important events that may be contributing to your current condition, as well as your goal for today’s treatment. From there we might get you to do some orthopedic assessment which gives us more clues as to what might be affecting the muscle groups in question, and then we bring it all together and create a personalized treatment plan, designed to address your areas of concern and meet the goals that we discussed during the interview.
We have 30, 45, 60, and 90-minute appointments and are able to provide highly focused treatments to your areas of concern. We also provide direct billing to most major healthcare insurance providers including Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Canada Life (formerly Great-West Life), Green Shield, Telus Health, ICBC claims, and more.
